In this information session you will hear about competence-based learning and its importance for Protected Areas and Natura 2000 sites. We will introduce different Training Needs Assessment Tools, that have been developed as part of the Life ENABLE and the NaturaConnect project. We will also look into the NaturaConnect Training Needs Assessment Tool, that has been created specifically for conservation planning. Together, we will explore the platform, followed by an an open session to conduct the on-spot individual assessment. This Training Needs Assessment Tool has been developed to enable professionals responsible for planning and implementing protected and conserved areas, to gain an insight into their current competencies and future training needs.

There will be room for discussion and questions the whole time and you are very much invited to provide feedback on the assesment and on the competences. The session is based on the Global Register of Competences for Protected Area Practitioners by Mike Appleton (IUCN-WCPA) and the professional experience in capacity building of ProPark Foundation.
